The Best Beaches in Sifnos, Honestly Ranked

1. Vathi — the all-rounder

Long shallow sandy bay on the south-west coast, with three or four tavernas at the water's edge and the little Taxiarchis chapel sitting on the sand. Calm enough for kids, big enough that it never feels packed.

2. Platis Gialos — the easy choice

The longest organised beach, with sunbeds, beach clubs, and the best lunch options. Picks up afternoon meltemi wind in July and August.

3. Faros — three coves in one

The fishing village has three small beaches: Fasolou (sandy, organised), Glyfo (mixed), and Apokofto (pebbly, with Chrysopigi at the end). Glassy water, easy walks between them.

4. Cherronisos — the reward

The most remote beach on Sifnos, at the northern tip. Tiny pebble cove, two tavernas, fishing boats. The 40-minute drive (or hike) is the point.

5. Seralia — Kastro's secret

A pebble cove directly below Kastro, reached by a marble staircase. No sunbeds, one taverna, perfect after a morning in the medieval village.

6. Vroulidia — the snorkel

Tiny, rocky, north of Kastro. Best water clarity on the island. Bring a mask.

7. Kamares — the convenience pick

The town beach by the port. Wide, sandy, family-friendly. Useful on arrival and departure days, less essential mid-trip.
